MISSION/ MOODBOARD
I love working with bright colors and eye-catching prints. I consider it a strength of mine to pick colors and combine them so that they match, compliment one another, form interesting prints, and tell compelling stories. I believe my unique artistic vision and creativity stems from an amalgamation of my being a long-time and committed vegan, fashion designer, painter, and mixed-media artist.
My work appeals to vegan and sustainable brands, but also to luxury designers seeking to engage with the burgeoning demographic of politically and environmentally conscious consumers. With each passing day, a new designer progresses to a more conscientious approach to fabric choice, construction, manipulation, and manufacturing, reflecting the real and urgent need for us creators to be mindful of our planet and the impact which large industries have on the world and its inhabitants.
The materials I chose to fabric manipulate by color blocking were scraps of fabric I upcycled. I collaborated with Ultrafabrics, a vegan fabric company supported by PETA, and am a part of their program called 999, where fabric from discontinued lines and canceled orders are donated to me so that I can upcycle them into garments. The materials were initially destined for the aviation, and automotive industries, but I transformed them into a retail dress.
